OUTLINE OF BUSHCRAFT 2007
The OTMC gives you the opportunity to learn the skills to enable you to tramp safely in the hills and mountains of New
Zealand.
Bushcraft 2007 is a basic instruction course on tramping safety in the bush and mountains of New Zealand. Previous search and rescue events around the country have highlighted the need to have suitable bushcraft skills. Having these skills will maximise your enjoyment whilst tramping around New
Zealand.
You may not have done any tramping at all before, or may have done some recreational walking or school tramping trips and wish to learn more about the skills required to enjoy the outdoors in
safety.
Bushcraft 2007 will teach you about correct gear, trip preparation, setting up camp, map and compass use and much more, all through practical, hands on knowledge. The course is structured over several weekends, as well as three evening meetings.
