Trip 008 - Craiglowan Falls

DATE: November 12, 2022 (Saturday)
DEPART: 9am, Clubrooms
LEADER: Ash Flintoff (03 476 6313)
TRIP GRADE: E-M

Craiglowan Falls, in a tributary of McQuilkans Creek has been visited by the club since the early days. The first trip was led by inaugural President Oscar Balk on Sept 23, 1923 and departed from the other side of Flagstaff at Ross Creek.

This trip incorporates several features visited by the club over the years on the western side of Flagstaff, including the Big Rock, Sanatorium site, Craiglowan Falls and Whare Flat.

The track from Flagstaff - Whare Flat Rd to Craiglowan Falls does have a very steep & muddy section, with few handy trees to hang on to, so good footwear is essential.
