Trip 043 - Gardens - Gleghorn St - Signal Hill (circuit)

There have been at least 70 club trips that have included Signal Hill / Te Pahuri o te Rangipohika , but not many that have visited via Cleghorn Street to the true summit of Signal Hill.

The prominence of the higher summit is recognised by the radio and telecommunications masts, some of which serviced harbourside settlements.

This trip includes a fair bit of road-walking, but the views between Cleghorn St and the memorial on the lower summit of Signal Hill make up for this.

Following recent media coverage regarding access over the private property section, the club has obtained permission to access the track from Cleghorn St - our thanks to the landowner for the access.
