DATE:
April 22, 2023 (Saturday)
DEPART: 9am, corner of

LEADER: Antony Hamel (021 709 722)
TRIP GRADE: E-M (4-5 hours)

The Otago Tramping and Mountaineering Club (OTMC) are turning
100 during 2023, and to celebrate are running ‘100 Trips for 100
Years’, a project that is re-enacting 100 popular club tramping
trips.
In conjunction with Wild Dunedin, members of the OTMC will guide
groups of walkers through Dunedin’s significant Town Belt. The
establishment of the Dunedin Town Belt can be traced back to the
settlement of the city in 1848 and is one of the oldest Town
Belts in the world.
This trip, starting at the Southern Cemetery, is an easy to
moderate wander through the Town Belt to Woodhaugh Gardens,
completing the loop circuit via George and Princes Streets.
The walk will take 4-5 hours. Bring comfortable walking shoes
that you don’t mind getting muddy, some warm layers, raincoat
and your lunch / water.
Due to the need to safely manage walkers, this trip is limited
to 40 people.
