Trip 079 - All Day On The Peninsula

David Barnes introduced the concept of ‘All Day On The Peninsula’ trips in 1997, and led all 13 trips named as such on the trip programme.

The first trip completed a loop from Turnbulls Bay (Bacon Street) to Hoopers Inlet, Sandymount, Sandfly Bay, Boulder Beach, Paradise Track, Greenacres Track, finishing at Macandrew Bay.

The club was part of the council-led working group that established the network of tracks on paper roads we use today, and it is great to be able to link these together to make a variety of round trips.

Seasonal track closures will be in place when this trip is scheduled, so a modified circuit will be used, and will involve a bit more road walking. Nevertheless it will still be a great trip with some great views.
