Trip 100! The honour of leading the final ‘proper’ trip of our centenary programme goes to Antony Hamel, who has led many ‘quirky’ trips for the club over the years (i.e., The Fools Find Falls in Nicols Creek). This trip is a repeat of the only time the club has run this trip – one of Antony’s from 2004.
The aim of this trip is to climb five summits from a central location (as it is not possible to traverse across all of them). The summits are: Mt Martin (478m), Mt Cutten (530m), Mt Kettle (545m), Mt Chalmers (not on the Topomap) (550m) and the highest, Mihiwaka (561m).
There is no guarantee we will be able to get to the top of all of these, but we will certainly try. In his 2004 trip report Antony suggested next time they should be climbed in alphabetical order – 19 years later maybe that time!
This will be a great day out with good views.
