New
Zealand Mountain Safety Council (MSC) is a leading authority for
outdoor safety information and training in New Zealand.
Formed in 1965 in response to the
increasing number of accidents in the bush and mountains, MSC
has since developed into an organisation with 27 Branches, 1000
volunteer instructors, and 17 member organisations.
Groups of acknowledged industry experts advise MSC on current
practices, equipment and standards in their respective areas and
are responsible to MSC for steering the work of Programme
Managers.
